Senior Staff

Schedule

The senior program meetings are generally held on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month from 19:30 till 21:00 (7:30-9:00pm).

  • 2nd Thursday is a time allocated to take care of any administrative issues and helping members with
Professional development questions. The uniform of the day (UOD) is any appropriate CAP Uniform.
    Golf Shirt is the norm.
(Mess Dress is the best example I can think of as an inappropriate uniform choice. Also, flight suites should not be worn to meetings unless you are flying in.)

  • 4th Thursday
is dedicated to ES training (Air and/or ground). UOD is BDU (or CAP distinctive uniform equivalent.)

New Senior Member Training Requirements

Senior members are required to complete several different training programs (all available online) early in there CAP carrier. They are

Level 1 Training

Cadet Protection Policy Training (CPPT)

You will need CAPID#, last name and last 4 digits of your Soc Sec Number (SSN) to complete the test for this training. Several downloads are available for review from this page.

  • General Emergency 101 Card
While not specified in any national regulations, some commanders in our chain of command have strongly suggested that all senior members complete General ES early in there CAP Career. (i.e. First few months.)
    • CAPT 116 (Need CAPID number to take test)
    • MIMS IS-100.a

      Program Participation

The 3 missions of Civil Air Patrol are Cadet Programs, Emergency Services and Aerospace Education. All members (both Seniors and Cadets) of the Lake in the Hills Composite squadron are expected to participate at the unit to support our missions. In addition to (or instead of) direct participation in these missions, there are opportunities to support the squadron in other staff positions that provide indirect support to all our missions (Admin, Safety, Medical, Logistics, Etc.).

Members who are unable to participate in the program at our squadron can be transferred to a wing level squadron (Squadron IL-000). This is necessary if they or they have not completed the training requirements within a reasonable amount of time. It also helps us track the number of active members in the program.

This transfer to IL-000 is not a punitive measure and it is relatively easy to transfer members back to our squadron once all outstanding issues have been resolved.
